- About Us -
JIB PRODUCTIONS INC has enjoyed great success producing Connecticut’s popular lunchtime play reading series, Play With Your Food. This fall, JIB Productions is expanding its efforts to bring first-rate entertainment to the community with two exciting new offerings: Short Cuts and Seasons Readings.
SHORT CUTS offers a rare opportunity to view Oscar-nominated 2010 live action and animated shorts; films that are not shown anywhere else in this area. Short Cuts is a two part series and will take place on Thursday evenings - October 14th and November 11th at the Garden Cinema, 26 Isaac St. in Norwalk, CT. Series will be hosted by CT Post film critic Joe Meyers, who will also lead the discussion afterwards. Programs will begin at 6:30 p.m. with wine and pizza, hosted by Fountainhead Wines and Fat Cat Pie Co., followed by films and discussions from 7-8:30 p.m.
SEASONS READINGS is a grab bag of amusing and soul-stirring stories and short plays to contemplate, muse about, and celebrate the holidays. Offerings include writings by Wendy Wasserstein, Frederick Stroppel, William Lederer, Grace Paley, and excerpts from the hilarious ‘A Tuna Christmas.’ As with Play With Your Food, Seasons Readings will be expertly performed by professional actors in extremely intimate settings. The audience will be invited to join the cast for eggnog and dessert at the conclusion of the performances. Seasons Readings will take place on Dec. 9 at Greenwich Arts Council, 299 Greenwich Ave in Greenwich, and Dec. 16 at the Westport Woman’s Club, 44 Imperial Ave, Westport. Both productions will be held 7-9 p.m.
Play With Your Food continues to attract a sell out crowd. When you come to Play With Your Food, you arrive at noon for a buffet lunch catered by one of our local gourmet restaurants, then settle in for a program of clever, provocative one-act plays, read by terrific professional actors from Connecticut and New York. After a short discussion with the actors, and often a playwright or two, everyone goes back to work. It's an opportunity for people in the community to gather downtown over lunch, and then enjoy beautifully written short plays...some of which the public rarely sees...written by both award-winning writers and new voices. And, due to the prevalence and generosity of local restaurants and Starbucks, lunch is always delicious.
